Moscow - Berlin High-Speed Swift Train
A new high-speed train called Swift is to see the world on December 17, 2016 connecting two fabulous capitals - Moscow and Berlin. The train got its name in honour of a swift, a little bird which is considered to be one of the fastest birds in the world capable of developing speed of up to 120 km/h. Undoubtedly, the train is called like this for obvious reasons. Covering the distance of 1896 km, it takes only 20 hours and 14 minutes to get from one capital to the other, which is almost 5 hours less comparing with the travel time of the trains operating on the route at the moment. The new Swift runs twice a week departing from Kursky station in Moscow at 13:05 on Saturdays and Sundays and arriving at East station in Berlin at 07:19 on Sundays and Mondays respectively. Running through the territory of four countries including Belarus, the travelers must have a Belarusian transit visa, if it is required, to get to a place of destination. The Swift train consists of 20 carriages produced by a Spanish manufacturer Talgo. Besides the passenger carriages, there is also a restaurant car and a car-buffet in the train composition, where each traveler has a possibility to enjoy a variety of snacks, hot meals, desserts and drinks. Moreover, there are specially-equipped carriages for disabled people there. The train provides a number of travel classes suitable for a budget-traveler and for those who prefer traveling with a lot of comfort and privacy as well.
