Children can travel free or with a 50% discount (that depends on their age) on Russian trains
We offer special discounts for children on all routes, and senior citizen discounts for the following international trains only: Moscow-Nice (Route 017/018), and Moscow-Berlin-Paris (Route 023/024). Groups of 20 travelers or more may also qualify for group discounts.
Children aged younger than 5
Children aged 4 or younger can travel free if they do not occupy a separate bed or seat. Children who have reached their 5th birthday must have a separate (purchased) seat or bed. If a child aged 4 or younger occupies his or her own bed or seat, you will need to purchase a separate ticket (but at the standard 50 percent children’s discount).
How to obtain a discount for children ages 4 and younger: book your travel for all the adult travelers in your party on this website. Once your reservation has been placed, you will receive two e-mails, a sales receipt, and a reservation confirmation. Please send a response to either of these e-mails informing us that an additional child is (or children are) traveling with your party, and providing your child’s full name and passport information.
Children from 5 to 9 years old
A discount of 50 percent is available for children aged 9 years or younger. Once a child has reached his or her 10th birthday, a children’s discount no longer applies on Russian Railways.
How to obtain a discount for children ages 5-9: place your reservation on this website for all travelers, including your child at the regular rate. When you receive an email from us with sales receipt or booking confirmation, please respond to that email requesting a 50 percent discount for your child. This refund will be issued back to your credit card.
Senior discounts
Senior travelers can receive a discount of 20 percent on select international routes (Moscow-Nice and Moscow-Berlin-Paris. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer senior discounts on domestic Russian trains because of the specific policies of Russian Railways.
